Al Maresa Fishing Port Study, Libya
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
PACER in cooperation with the Libyan Technical Consultancy Co. Carried out physical and mathematical models of Maresa fishing port 25 km south west of Benghazi, Libya.
PACER Consultants’ scope of work included:
Collecting and analyzing the wave data and wave roseAnalyzing bathymetry data
Evaluating geotechnical data to determine particle characteristics
Carrying out the numerical model to determine the wave height distribution, the circulation and the effect of construction of the port on the shoreline change due to sediment transport
Carrying out the physical mode experiments for the stability of breakwaters in cooperation with Suez Canal Authority
Preparation of the technical report including the modelling results and recommendations during construction
