Improve Navigation Conditions Surman Fishing Port, Libya
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The study aims to improve navigation conditions and wave disturbance inside and at entrance of the harbor to cope with limited values needed for safe entrance and berthing of fishing ships in addition to control sediment transport that reaches the navigable channel and management plan.
PACER Consultants’ scope of work included Numerical Model and employing the following software
Mike 21 Spectrum wave SW – used to transfer deep water wind and wave data to coastal waves taking into account wave transformationsMike 21 Flow Module HD which calculates, circulation and shore current, using radiation stress
Mike 21 Business Module BW which calculates wave agitation in the near shore area, the navigation channel and the harbour basin using Mike 21 Spectrum wave Module
Sediment transport Module ST is used to carry out sediment transport analysis
Data viewer and plot composer modules used to ensure high quality graphic output
