Maritime | Navigation Channel and Lock, El Beheriy Canal

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project was Construction of a new navigation channel and lock at Bolein on El Beheiry Canal, and rehabilitation of existing channels between the industrial areas of Kafr El Zyat and Bolein.

To enhance internal navigation waterways between Cairo and Alexandria, the Authority commissioned PACER to carry out planning and design works of the navigation channel and lock at Bolein.

Survey works of existing lock and all structures in the project area, preparing survey maps with suitable scale showing contour lines, network map, levels and traverse maps
Soil investigation for the proposed project and preparing technical report includes the field and lab tests and recommendations concerning foundation level and type of foundation
Preparation of the hydrographic cross section of El Beheiry canal and Rosetta branch
Determining the best location of the new lock according to the allowed distances between the existing structural works and the new navigation channel
Preparation of the project environmental report
Design of all members of Lock, a steel bridge, lining of the canal upstream and downstream the lock, and operation Building
Construction Supervision
