Maritime | New Navigation Channel and Lock Construction, Nubareya

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project was Construction of a new navigation channel and lock at KM mark 100 – on Nubareya Canal. Project aimed to enhance internal navigation waterways in Egypt between Cairo and Alexandria. The Authority contracted PACER to carry out planning and design works of the new navigation channel and lock as required.

PACER Consultants’ scope of work included:

Survey works of existing locks and all structures in the area
The resultant maps included specific information about contours, network maps, levels and transverse maps
Extensive soil investigation and preparation of final reports and test results
Preparation of canal’s hydrographic cross section and environmental impact studies
Preparation of a complete detailed design package. Tender documents and construction supervision
