PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project was construction of the new navigation locks at Esna Upper Egypt.

Project aimed to enhance the internal navigation waterways between Cairo and Upper Egypt regions.

The Arab Contractor in his capacity as the prime contractor of the project commissioned PACER to carry out planning and hydraulic designs of the Esna lock.

PACER Consultants’ scope of work included:

Survey works of existing lock and all structures in the project area, preparing survey maps with suitable scale showing contour lines, network map, levels and traverse maps
Preparation of hydraulic and civil detailed designs for the lock chamber, upstream and downstream head structures, outlet structure and the control building
Preparation of the project environmental report
